12 Hours to Ava!

We started out today at the Jade Factory. They actually carve the jade right there where you can watch. Very expensive but beautiful.

If we were cold yesterday, then we were freezing today. The Great Wall was 1 degree but much colder with the wind. Don't ever recall feeling quite so cold.

The cloisoinne place was pretty cool. The raised copper is all placed down by hand. What terrible working conditions these people have to endure. There was no heating in the areas where all the people worked but of course the gift shop was kept warm.

We flew to Chaungsha, Hunan this evening. We go to the Civil Affairs office at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning to get Ava. It's finally here!

Michele,
What wonderful pictures. Gosh, just one (1) degree -- just a little cold. But how exciting to see and experience the Great Wall.

It is 9:30 AZ time and I am sure you are not sleeping. I can't even imagine your anticipation.

I will be thinking of you this evening at 7:00 while you are meeting your daughter Ava for the first time. I am going to cry just thinking about it.

Can't wait to see your next posting of you and Ava.

Love,
Kathy

Michele,

You already have Ava by this time and my heart is filled with such joy for you. You are a MOM! Congratulations to you and your daughter. You better give her a big hug from all of us here in Arizona. Travel safely. I will go wipe my eyes now. Love, Amber, Mike and Thomas

Hi Michele, We are thinking about you and figure you are probably united with Ava by now! Looking forward to pictures of mommy and daughter together!

Also, we loved the pictures of Beijing with a light dusting of snow on the ground... how pretty but it does look really chilly!
